Many gamers and fans of Xbox have been nervously awaiting Xbox’s response and plan to create more exclusive games for their home system. So far this generation PlayStation has dominated the console exclusives scene with amazing games such as God of War, Last of Us, Uncharted and Detroit Become Human.
It would appear that Xbox has a plan to come back swinging as they have announced that they have 5 new game studios joining with Microsoft Studios. These being Undead Labs, Playground Games, Compulsion Games, Ninja Theory and the newly created Initiative.
So what does this mean for Xbox, and will this be their saving grace to get more exclusives out on the market?
With Undead Labs and Ninja Theory just having released a game in the last year it is unlikely to see anything new from these studios anytime soon. We already know that Compulsion is working on We Happy Few and Playground is creating Forza Horizon 4. So this really begs the question what is Initiative doing? Will they create a brand new IP or take up the reins on a well-established franchise such as Fable?
Only time will tell how this decision will affect Xbox’s ability to rival Playstations proficiency to pump out amazing exclusives, but regardless it is a very good start for Xbox.
